Once you receive confirmation of payment, your reservation is guaranteed. In order to maintain our commitment to all of our guests, Dive Rarotonga operates its cancellation policy as follows:
NOTE: For shop/phone bookings, the full amount is required to make a booking
If you cancel your dives/package, for whatever reason, the cancellation policy is as follows:
For multiple dive packages, all dives are to be paid for in full prior to diving on the first day of the dives.
A no-show for whatever reason, including but not limited to flight delays, hangovers or just not getting out of bed will mean loss of payment.
For guided dives you may change the date of your reservation for free if you advise us more than 48 hours before the dive date and alternative dates are available. This can be done via email or by phoning (+682) 21873. We do not allow swapping booked dives from one person to another.
If you cannot complete scheduled dives due to ill health, there will be no refund. If we have space available and can arrange new dive dates to finish your dives, we will happily move your dive dates. If you require a letter for travel insurance purposes to claim the value of these dives, we are happy to oblige. All changes are subject to availability.
Divers who have been out of the water for some time are welcome to book an in-pool refresher before their dives. If you do not book a refresher and our Instructors believe safety is an issue, you will not be allowed to enter the water.
We accept bookings from PADI, SSI, NAUI, BSAC, TDI, SDI, IANTD and CMAS qualified divers. For our guided dive trips you need to be an Open Water diver or equivalent with a qualification that includes dives up to 18m. If you hold a PADI/SSI “Scuba Diver 12 m” qualification your limit for scuba diving is 12 m and you require direct supervison — please contact us for suitable trips prior to booking. If you have not dived for some time we strongly suggest you complete an in-pool refresher prior to your boat dives.
Although our group guided dives are guided by our Instructors, they are not there to compensate for divers who have been poorly trained or are incapable of diving due to lack of knowledge or poor fitness. If you believe you need special help, please book a one-on-one dive trip instead.
This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE for any reason. This is because we must pay PADI when we register you for online training and spaces for courses are limited.
If you cancel your Discover Scuba experience or PADI referral course, for whatever reason, the cancellation policy is as follows:
For PADI Learn to Dive courses you need to be able to swim 200 m and tread water for 10 mins to demonstrate water confidence/fitness. For all courses you must be able to answer “NO” to all the medical questions or be signed off as “fit to dive” by a doctor using the appropriate paperwork.
We only teach courses in English, so you need to have an excellent understanding of English to complete any of our courses. We may be able to assist you if your first language is French or Japanese.
If you cannot complete a scheduled course part way through due to ill health or any other reason, we unfortunately cannot give you a refund.
For most courses there is a theory element to be completed online. This online learning is compulsory and must be completed BEFORE the start of the course. If you do not complete the online learning prior to arriving on the Island, it may be difficult to do so whilst here due to local internet speeds. You will not be able to start the course if your online learning is not completed and we will be unable to refund your deposit.
We have a minimum age requirement of 12 years for our standard guided dives, 10 years for Discover Scuba, 12 years for PADI Scuba Diver, Open Water and Advanced courses. This increases to 16 years for Rescue Diver and 18 years for Dive Master to Instructor levels.
For Scuba Diver and Open Water courses we require a minimum of two students to run the course. If you would like to book for one person only, please send us an email and check what courses are running.
Your credit card will be charged as soon as your booking can be confirmed — this is normally within 24 hours of your booking request. If the date that you choose is unavailable, Dive Rarotonga will offer an alternative day or time and confirm this with you before making any charges to your card.
It is important that you feel safe when booking with us online. For this reason, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your credit card and other sensitive information when you book our dive packages and courses. The process of encryption prevents unauthorised individuals from viewing your information, as it is securely transmitted over the internet. Once received, your credit card information is not transmitted over the internet again.
On the day of your dive, you must bring your credit card and your certification with you. For more details, please check-in at our store on arrival.
All diving is weather permitting. If Dive Rarotonga has to cancel dives for any reason, be it due to weather, mechanical failure or staff sickness, the following applies:
Certified dive trips and Discover Scuba — you will be offered alternative dates and if none are suitable, you will be refunded in full. For part completed dive packages this refund will be pro rata of the dive trips completed.
If you have any questions that we have not covered, please feel free to contact us via email or call us on (+682) 21873.
